nike-1 basketball player signs pro contract...
date: august 02, 2005
justice graham, former member of the young n.i.k.e.-1 program has completed his college eligibility playing for the glenville state college men's basketball team this past season, recently signed a professional basketball contract.
justice is obviously excited about the situation. "i am both excited and anxious about heading to holland", stated graham. "i have continued since our season at glenville state ended working on my game, preparing for this once in a lifetime opportunity. this is something i have dreamed about doing for a long, long time."
justice, who finished in the top 10 nationally in scoring with over 22 points per game as a senior, will be playing for the landstede zwolle team which is coached by head coach van den belt herman. the team finished 18-12 overall in the standings a year ago.
graham's agent, dick de boer, led the way for graham in receiving the contract offer that was finally settled on in holland. dick de boer of head first consultancy in the netherlands guided graham through the process, along with assistance from the men's basketball coaching staff at glenville state college.
justice was also quick to point out that his college situation and experience at glenville state played a large role in this once in a lifetime opportunity. "i am so appreciate to both coach osborne and coach hankinson for all they have done to help provide me with this opportunity. they were so consistent in demanding a great effort out of me daily and monitoring all that i did to ensure that i was maximizing my potential. i will always be thankful to them for their constant care."
good luck justice...

"ream-o" gearing up for his senior campaign
ten questions with . . .
augusta state university senior point guard karim telfer
--
1. what is your earliest basketball memory?
my earliest basketball memory would be when i first started out playing in the park and my brothers and our friends would call me "the right hand bandit", because no matter where i was or what i did on the court it was with my right hand.
2. who had the most influence on your basketball career?
i would say where i live had the most influence on my career. before i moved to my current address i never played ball. when i moved, basketball was something i picked up. when i did i worked out with a lot of guys and came in contact with a couple of coaches who have gotten me to where i am today.
3. if you could play one-on-one against any player, who would it be and why?
if i could play one-on-one against any player, i would play kobe bryant. i would play him because he is a type of player that is consistently improving different parts of his game, making him a complete player. playing against someone with his work ethic and skill would only make me better.
4. what is the biggest difference between junior college and asu?
the biggest difference would be in junior college everyone wants to win but there is a bigger focus on individual performance so you can have the option of going on to a bigger and better school. here at asu the focus is solely on the team and team goals.
5. what is one thing most people would be surprised to know about you?
one thing most people would be surprised to know about me is that i'm a neat freak.
6. what do you like to do outside of basketball?
outside of basketball i like to chill with my peoples; i also like putting on clothes and going out.
7. what class at asu has been the most challenging so far?
i would say the most challenging class so far has been macroeconomics with dr. leightner.
8. what teammate do you look forward to playing with most this year?
i would say i am looking forward to playing with the entire sophomore class because they are the future for asu.
9. what is one thing you most miss about new york city?
one thing i miss most is the option of going different places and not having to drive everywhere.
10. give three adjectives to describe coach dip metress.
passionate, energetic, unorthodox
