in this article, i'll discuss how to fix your tsadmin utility if it gets stuck on the taskbar and won't window properly when you click on it.
prerequisites:
•a running terminal server that suffers from the above problem
•a registry editor, like regedit.exe
section 1: indicators:
the tsadmin utility may appear to be stuck or be locked, but you are still able to bring up the application if you 'switch to' it using the task manager. even when you do this, tsadmin still appears to be in a nonfunctional state. while the cause of this varies, the problem is that somehow the tsadmin's window placement is off the screen. by resetting the location of the tsadmin window, this problem will go away.
section 2: how to fix the problem:
before we go hacking the registry, please be sure to close down the tsadmin application if you have it open. go into your terminal server's registry and find hkcu\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\terminal server\tsadmin and delete the placement value. the placement value stores the position of the tsadmin window, and this registry value will be recreated once you restart the tsadmin application.
well, that's it. your tsadmin application should now work and function just fine, instead of being stuck on the taskbar.
