at bound for glory, wrestling legend sting defeated kurt angle and captured the tna world heavyweight championship.

at the biggest tna pay per view of the year, sting captured the tna world heavyweight championship from kurt angle. it was a glorious moment indeed.
the match between sting and kurt angle wasn't the best match on the show, especially considering how many great matches that we saw at bound for glory. however, it was the biggest match. two of the most popular and respected wrestlers ever faced off in a dream match. it doesn't get much bigger than that.
history repeats
it's interesting that tna booked sting to win the tna world heavyweight championship at bound for glory this year. he won the nwa world heavyweight championship from jeff jarrett at bound for glory last year. the names of the title has changed, but they're basically the same title.
it says a lot about tna's respect for sting that they'd be willing to have him go over the company's top heels on two consecutive bound for glory pay per views.
it's even especially more impressive since kurt angle had been built up to be tremendously strong this year. at one point, the former olympic gold medalist held four titles (tna world heavyweight, tna world tag team, tna x division, and iwgp 3rd generation).
rematch
there are reports that sting and kurt angle are scheduled to face one another in a rematch for the tna world heavyweight championship on an episode of tna impact! soon. hopefully, tna doesn't pull the quick title switch because that would cheapen sting's win at bound for glory a bit.
tna could also be using the title rematch to set up other feuds for kurt angle and sting.
tna genesis 2007
if sting is allowed to keep the tna world heavyweight championship, then his title defense at genesis 2007 should be in a fatal four way against samoa joe, kurt angle, and kevin nash.
kurt angle should obviously get a rematch since he was the champion. kevin nash is rumored to have signed a new deal with tna where he returns to the wrestling ring. his heavy involvement in the bound for glory main event and potential feud with kurt angle makes him a good candidate for the match. after a big win over christian cage at the pay per view, samoa joe definitely deserves to be elevated into the main event once again.
if tna decides to go with a straight up feud between kurt angle and kevin nash, then sting can be placed into a title feud with samoa joe. tna has shown more of a willingness to do a feud between two faces. a match between samoa joe and sting would be a fresh matchup that fans have never seen on a pay per view.

it's nice of tna to provide wrestling fans with a "feel good" moment on their biggest pay per view of the year.
