en sus inicios en wwf era el guardaespaldas de shawn michaels, bajo el nombre de big daddy cool diesel; luego se separa de su jefe y comienza su carrera en esolitario hasta que gana el campeonato de la wwe en 8 segundos ante bob backlund. ese título lo defiende por casi 11 meses (enfrentando a rivales de la talla del british bulldog, hbk, sid, etc, y ante basuras como mavel - actualmente conocido como viscera). el campeonato lo pierde en la survivor series de 1995 ante bret hart. ello ocurre cuando diesel se acerca ante un aparentemente desmayado bret, quien aprovecha ese descuido para hacerle un roll up (conocido en latinoamerica como el paquetito) y llevarse la victoria. ante ello diesel se molesta y le aplica 2 jacknife (o sea 2 bmbasos de proporciones). con ello cambia de face (bueno) a heel (malo), teniendo un interesante feudo contra el undertaker que culmina con la victoria de este en wrestlemania 12. antes de irse a wcw, su ultimo feudo es nuevamente con hbk, quien lo derrota. actualmente se encuentra luchando en tna.
