because time machine is doing some filesystem-level stuff to take snapshots, etc....stuff that afs doesn't *necessarily* have to implement. so in using this 'fix', you're assuming that an airport extreme basestation implements every single feature of afs in vending an "airport disk". more power to ya. but remember, time machine is supposed to be a reliable, rock-solid *fall back*. so why would you play fast and loose with some 'quick fix'?
