trost of el paso, the franciscan was considered to be the epitome of what is known as "pueblo revival" architecture. the trosts were also the architects for the sunshine building, the rosenwald building, and the first national bank building (now the banque lofts). for my money, the franciscan was the highpoint of their work in albuquerque. the franciscan used to be on central near the masonic temple...that 'whitehouse' looking building across from robinson park downtown. city life on duke city fix 14 comments friday 11/09/07 the fruits of my *ahem* labor by spring cyrena griffin i am often amazed by what grows in albuquerque. last week my neighbor called me to let me know a package of mine had been delivered to her. when i went over to get it she showed me the saffron stigmas that she was harvesting from her yard-so cool! then she made sure i got a jar of her red currant jelly before i left and when i asked where she got red currants she told me that she grows them. inspired by her example i went home and picked the prickly pears from my cactus and made jelly. then i picked the pomegranates from my tree and seeded them all, you can freeze the seeds and i did. the cactus and the pomegranate tree have survived admirably despite the shameful way that i neglect them; it's wild what survives here. city life on duke city fix morning fix: our country for a dairy
