trivia:
in 1997, wrestler ric flair got involved in a legitimate legal dispute with wcw president eric bischoff regarding his contract with the company. this stemmed from flair missing a "nitro" show with the understanding bischoff gave him the night off so he could see his son compete in an amateur wrestling match. bischoff denied this and took action against flair, who, in turn, tried to get out of his contract. after the lengthy dispute was settled, the situation was written into a story and the two feuded on tv and pay-per-view events.

if you watch wwf's raw is war you can see just how lame and underdeveloped
nitro is. the plot lines are drastically inferior to that of the wwf. wcw
except for goldberg doesn't have any interesting wrestlers at all. all they
do is take all the old wrestlers from '80's and expect people to watch it,
to look back at that idols when they were kids. i loved randy savage and
hulk hogan as a kid, but you have to admit it they are well past their
prime. i hate diamond dallas page, why does anyone really even care about
him. i don't even hate him in a "i love to hate him" way, i just hate him.
he is so untalented and uninteresting i can't believe anyone really cares
about him. if you want to watch real wrestling watch wwf with actually
interesting characters like stone cold, the rock, cactus jack, kane, the
undertaker and others.
