army, served three tours in vietnam and was a decorated aviator. he
served as deputy u.s. defense representative to pakistan and was
assistant professor of military science at northwestern state
university. he was director of personnel and community activities
and executive officer to the deputy post commander at fort polk.
he also served as an aviation staff officer for the defense mapping
agency at the aerospace center in st. louis and was chief of plans
and programs branch for the aviation test board. he was assistant
director and student personnel services officer for the alexandria
regional technical institute. in 1989, he became coordinator for
central louisiana programs at northwestern state university and
n 1991 he was named registrar at northwestern, retiring in 1996.
he was preceded in death, his parents, hugh c. durham jr. and
audine lawrence durham.
survivors: wife, judy durham of shreveport; children, hugh iv,
sharon, amy augustine and patrick hetherton; sister, rosalind
