né le 8 juillet 1958 à philadelphie, kevin
bacon quitte dix-sept
ans plus tard sa ville natale pour se former à l'art dramatique au
sein du circle in the square theater de new york. trois ans
plus tard, il débute au cinéma dans american college,
où il
côtoie de nombreux potaches de renoms, tel feu john belushi.
si les premières années sont difficiles et remplies de rôles
“alimentaires” qu'il préfère oublier, il parviendra néanmoins à
s'imposer parmi la génération montante. après des débuts à
broadway en 1983 aux côtés de sean penn dans “slab boys”,
il parvient à tourner, et explose dans le “film de jeunes”
footlose. le succès tarde pourtant à se confirmer,
hormis le
rôle principal de la comédie la vie en plus. il lui
faudra en fait
attendre 1993 et des hommes d'honneur pour connaître
à
nouveau la gloire médiatique. mais le mal est fait : kevin
bacon est né second rôle, kevin bacon régnera second rôle !
ainsi après oliver stone (jfk),
barry levinson (sleepers,
diner), joel schumacher (l'expérience interdite)
curtis
hanson (la rivière sauvage), et ron howard (apollo 13)
john mcnaughton lui a recement confier un rôle.
et un premier, s'il vous plaît. bacon a ensuite été à l'affiche de
digging to china, du comédien timothy
hutton. cette année on
a put le voir dans le second film de david koepp : stir of echoes (hypnose),
et dans le dernier film de paul verhoeven : l'homme sans ombre.
en parallèle, kevin bacon mène une vie de rock-star (ou presque) puisqu'il
vient de sortir son premier album avec son frère michael, sous
le nom de the bacon brothers. l'acteur a également réalisé
son premier film en 1995, losing chase.
