  (19)20-21 may - mt jagungal - l/m a really nice trip to do in late autumn, before the winter snows make this spectacular mountain the domain of ski tourers. mt jagungal is a really cool mountain with views to the brindabellas and the main range. access is via fire trails and foot tracks through rolling alpine hills. be ready for chilly nights. we'll camp friday night near round mountain hut. transport: about $30. pretrip: 6pm, wednesday, 17 may. contact: paul rustomji on 62465754w or email paul.rustomji@cbr.clw.csiro.au   20 or 21 may - bungonia wall (adv) bungonia is a spectacular limestone gorge about 300m deep with numerous quality hard multi-pitch routes. if you like runout and scary grade 22s you might be interested in this advanced climbing trip. which day we do it will depend on the weather forecast. contact: tim chappell on 62489393.   20-21 may - kayaking in royal national park (e/e) come and explore the beautiful port hacking and its estuaries, teaming with bird and aquatic life. starting from bundeena beach, we paddle flat water and beautiful streams accessible only by kayak. we will cover little more than 15km each day and camp at secluded spots beside the audley river with ample swimming opportunities. suitable for beginners, numbers limited. pretrip 5.45pm thursday 18 may. contact mike dennis on 62493976w or mike@faceng.anu.edu.au   sun 21 may - jerrara creek rain washed out the april canyoning trip so its time to try again. this is an easy grade three intermediate canyoning trip in the not so chilly waters of bungonia state recreation reserve (not far from goulburn). there are three abseils so participants should have completed a canyoning rope skills course of have similar experience. limit of 8 people. transport: $15. contact: jeff brown on 62957152h, 62798872w or jeff.brown@faceng.anu.edu.au   27-28 may - wollondilly exploration trip (int) rockclimbing there's a crag tucked in the wollondilly valley (only a couple of hours from canberra) which i'd like to check out. the guide says there's lots of long easy routes (all natural gear) on solid granite-like rock. sounds fun? transport: $15-$20. contact bernard pfeil on 62518292h or bpfeil@pi.csiro.au     27-28 may - intermediate sea kayaking you must be reasonably comfortable paddling in open water, and be able to paddle for at least 2 - 3 hours (not fast and not continuous) without a shore break. we'll go somewhere scenic, with lot's of wildlife. i'm open to suggestions and the final destination will depend on who comes, what we want to do, what the wind is doing, and where the marine mammals are playing. numbers will be limited by the availability of boats and experienced-intermediate ratio. contact: andrew collins on 62171602w, 0413011490m or collins_a@casa.gov.au   sat 27 may - island mountain m/m a walk to a peak in the central budawangs which provides a different and spectacular view of well known peaks such as the castle and pigeon house. there's only a small amount of climbing, but about half the walk is off track, and there are some swampy sections. but the views and the braidwood cafes afterwards should compensate for that!
