né à new york en 1964, kevin saunderson est un acteur incontournable de l'histoire de la techno. on l'appelle l'inventeur de la techno de détroit comme juan atkins et derrick may. ils ont fondé tous les trois le collectif deep space soundworks en 1981 et, plus récemment, le detroit's music institute, qui était la plus importante fondation underground de la scène de détroit. kevin fonde son propre label kms records en 1986.
plus tard il fusionne la techno avec le son de groupes européens comme kraftwerk, can et depeche mode, créant plusieurs tubes et développant ainsi le son de détroit. saunderson est aussi un des producteurs technos les plus influents. il a produit sous les noms de inner city, k.s.experience, keytones, tranzistor, the reese project, kaos et a travaillé avec des artistes blake baxter, derrick may et d.wynn sur le r-tyme project. actuellement disponible, le maxi this means that :
