what is the most important thing in such kind of entertainment as sports? well, of course, there may be some people who can raise an objection that sports is not an entertainment, but still the most part of people just have a good time when they decide to watch some championship. but, probably, the most indignant thing is that not sports achievements are interesting for numerous fans of various teams, but... the salary of sportsmen, gossips about their private life, funny videos with them and just different attributes, such as shirts with the name of their favorite team or player as well as its emblems.
for example, such well-known professional hockey team as buffalo sabres also has experience concerning such important attribute as its logo. thus in 2006 the team decided to change their logo. well, there is nothing strange. moreover, buffalo sabres changed it already some years ago. but who can imagine that this will cause such a scandal! there was fix the logo petition which had more than 30,000 signatures against such changes.
it was online petition and someone even appreciated it, because it indicated that fans of this team didn't accept this logo and even called the whole team "buffaslug". but still reading such news and comments it seems that sports is not just like an entertainment, but also the industry with its promotional campaigns. is not it sad that even such things resemble trade market?
of course, people always need some decorations in order to believe in something, but probably sport is the kind of entertainment where the most necessary things are progress and victory, but not some arguments concerning the various attributes. so, let's not make the phrase "citius, altius, fortius" turn into "more fashionable, more extravagant, more popular ". who cares whether you are buffalo sabres or buffaslug if you win?
